Did you know you have fast, easy access to books at 11 other universities and community colleges through Novanet? That the new Novanet search tool searches some (but not all) databases? That the library's handy Journal Finder tool will tell you what electronic journals you have access to and which years & issues the library carries? And that you have access to books and e-journals at libraries worldwide through our interlibrary loan service?
Learn Novanet basics and advanced search techniques in an Academic Research Workshop. A research librarian will walk you through what you need to know about Novanet, introduce you to some databases, and show you search techniques to find the best academic resources for your assignments.
You can sign up for a workshop by e-mailing Infodesk, or see the sign-up sheets outside the Library's Flying Bean Café. Workshops take 50 minutes, and will be held in the Library's 3rd-floor Computer Lab (Room 314). We have four sessions available: pick a date and time that works for you:
Tuesday, Oct. 29: 1 p.m. - 1:50 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 5: 4 p.m. - 4:50 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 6: 1:30 p.m. - 2:20 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 7: 10 a.m. - 10:50 a.m.
If you can't attend one of these dates, pop by the Research Help Desk for some one-on-one training.
