"Our Picks" is a series of talks and readings held in the R.P. Bell Library beginning in October, 2018.
The idea for Our Picks came from University Librarian Marc Truitt.
"With an eye to the next academic year, I'm announcing "Our Picks," a series of talks/readings by contemporary, living Canadian authors. Their works can be either fiction or non-fiction. They can be from Atlantic Canada or "from away." Best of all, *you* get to pick them!" he said in an e-mail to staff in the spring of 2018.
The result is a series of four readings this academic year, with more potentially in the works for 2019-20.
The authors are:
Omar El Akkad, author of American War (Oct. 25, 7 p.m.)
Peter Robinson, author of the Inspector Banks series (Nov. 21, 7 p.m.)
Sean Michaels, author of Us Conductors (Jan. 16, 2019, 7 p.m.)
Katherena Vermette, author of The Break and others (Feb. 6, 2019, 7 p.m.)
