"Curbside" pick-up continues to operate from the lobby of the R.P. Bell Library for both Music and Main Library books. Students in residence-quarantine can request books and -- with the help of the Mount A Bookstore's campus mail service -- we can deliver to your dorm. Just send us your list!

As of Wednesday, June 17, the Library is open for "curbside" pick-up through the library lobby. People can place requests for books or other items from the R.P. Bell or Music Library a number of ways:

  • Use our online request form
  • Place a hold through the Novanet catalogue (works for Mount A items only)
  • E-mail circ@mta.ca
  • Phone 364-2568

This service is open for all library patrons, including community members. Once we receive your request, we will find your items and check them out to you. We'll contact you when they are ready for pick-up.

Pick-up location is the R.P. Bell Library lobby. Your books will be checked out and waiting for you, with your last name and first initial written on an exterior wrapper. Simply pick them up and go! Pick-up times are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon, or any time by appointment during regular weekday library hours. The Library is staffed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES

The Library has a number of COVID-19 safety measures in place. We are asking that just one person enter or occupy the lobby at a time during curbside pick-up. Designated in and out doors direct traffic. All books are quarantined for 72 hours upon return to the library and before we re-circulate them to other patrons. In addition, staff take safety precautions when handling materials, including frequent hand washing. Staff will disinfect touchable surfaces in the lobby once patrons collect their items and leave.

As part of ongoing COVID-19 safety precautions, staff and librarians are working both in the building and from home.

RESEARCH ASSISTANCE, INTERLIBRARY LOAN STILL ONLINE

Interlibrary loan and librarian research assistance continue to be available, but in an online format. Librarians are available through Live Chat, e-mail, phone, or virtual meetings. (See links and contact information on our COVID-19 pages.)

Interlibrary loan is available for electronic items only, since most libraries remain closed for print lending. We are tracking the opening of libraries across Canada and the world. Interlibrary loan will resume once libraries resume lending. Similarly, Novanet Express is not yet available.

Please see our COVID-19 pages for a full list of services available.
