In honour of Black History Month, the Mount Allison Music Library has created a virtual book display to celebrate black composers and musicians. All of these titles (and more!) can be found in the Alfred Whitehead Music Library:
Looking for something other than books? You can also borrow scores and sheet music by various artists, from Victorian composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor to rock musician Jimi Hendrix, or stream the music of Ella Fitzgerald, Florence Price, and Oscar Peterson, among others. The film Le Mozart Noir: Reviving a Legend about 18th century composer Joseph Boulogne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, is also available online.
This list is by no means exhaustive. We invite you to take some time to explore our holdings on your own. Happy reading & listening!
The Music Library is currently open Monday to Friday from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm. You can find up-to-date information on our website.
