J-STAGE is a platform for scholarly publications in Japan. It is developed and managed by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). It provides online access to more than 4,000 journals, conference proceedings, and other academic publications from more than 2,400 publishers in Japan.

This archived website was a collaborative effort of the University of Virginia Library Electronic Text Center and the University of Pittsburgh East Asian Library to make texts of classical Japanese literature available on the World Wide Web. The website is no longer being updated as of 2022 and is now archived, but accessible with full-text articles and books with options for Japanese-language and English-language translations.
