Marie Hammond Callaghan (PhD, National University of Ireland, Dublin)

Marie Hammond Callaghan is an assistant professor in the women’s studies program and the History department at Mount Allison University, Sackville, NB. Her main research interests lie in women’s peace movement history in 20th century Canada and Europe, as well as gender scholarship on militarism. To date she has published several scholarly articles on women’s peace activism in the North of Ireland and Canada during the 1970s. She is co-editor of Mobilizations, Protests and Engagements: Canadian Perspectives on Social Movements (Halifax: Fernwood Press, 2008).

 

Clayton Burrill (Class of 2007)

Bachelor of Arts with a with a first class honours in history and a minor in Hispanic studies, Mount Allison University.

Currently, Clayton is studying law at Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS.

 

Sarah Craig (Class of 2007)

Bachelor of Arts with an honours in history and a minor in women’s studies, Mount Allison University.

Currently, Sarah is pursuing a Masters of Business Administration at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John.

 

Angela Hersey (Class of 2007)

Bachelor of Arts with a major in history and minors in Canadian studies and political science, Mount Allison University.

After graduation, Angela worked in the Mount Allison University Archives researching the sporting history of Mount Allison, which will be used in an online virtual exhibit in 2008. Currently, Angela is working at the Boultenhouse Heritage Centre in Sackville, NB doing research on Sackville and the Tantramar Region.

 

Maria Beltz (Class of 2007)

Bachelor of Arts with a major in history and a minor in French, Mount Allison University.

 

Kenichiro Abe (Class of 2007)

Bachelor of Arts with a major in history and a minor in philosophy, Mount Allison University.

Currently, Kenichiro is back home in Japan ‘looking for a full-time employment in business, bowing a lot in job interviews,’ and ‘trying very hard not to lose his soul’ even if he is ‘destined to be a corporate drone.’

 

Lauren Sheffield (Class of 2007)

Bachelor of Arts with a major in history and a minor in art history, Mount Allison University.

Currently Lauren is completing an internship with Verge, a Canadian travel magazine. She has plans eventually to continue her studies with a Masters degree in history or art history.

 

Moorea Hum (Class of 2007)

Bachelor of Fine Arts (interests: printmaking, drawing, photography, and tattooing), Mount Allison University.

Currently Moorea is ‘pursuing a career as a tattoo artist and has plans to travel, and then travel some more, tattooing and getting tattooed along the way….’
