Plagiarism webinar poster

Every year students are caught plagiarizing. Every year, many say they had no idea they were doing it. Join the Library and MASU for a 50- to 60-minute lunchtime webinar Tuesday, March 30 to learn about plagiarism and how to avoid it. We'll discuss some common examples of plagiarism and how to fix them with a simple citation. We'll focus, however, on trickier examples, such as how to paraphrase correctly to ensure you are not unknowingly plagiarizing.

This 50- to 60-minute session will cover:

  • When and when not to cite
    • known facts
    • ideas
    • direct quotes
    • paraphrases
    • self-plagiarism
    • images
  • Citation & citation generators
  • How to get further help
