Fonds consists of personal correspondence, lecture and related research notes and notebooks on Russia, Spain during the Civil War, and Eastern Europe as well as promotional materials and newspaper clippings, pamphlets, photographs, postcards, diplomas and certificates. The contents of the fonds document Ella Smith’s interest in current affairs and history.
Immediate source of acquisition:
Donated by her sister, Mrs. Helen Skinner, on 6 April 1973 with an accrual from the President’s Office at Mount Allison University on 10 May 1973.
Articles regarding Ella L. Smith can be found in the 4 October 1963 issue of The Argosy Weekly and in The Mount Allison Record in editions published in the Summer of 1963 and the Winter of 1973.
