Need Mount Allison books? Request them through our online form, by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org, or in person at the Access Services desk. You can also contact a librarian via Live Chat or by e-mail to email@example.com. Staff will find your books, check them out to you, and place them in the Library to Go pick-up area (formerly the new book display area just inside the doors to the main floor). You can also request pick-up in the Music Library.
You do not need to book a seat or time to pick up your Library to Go books -- just pop in any time during regular library hours.
You can also request Mount Allison books and books from other Novanet Libraries through the Novanet catalogue's Novanet Express / Place a Hold service.
You will need to submit a request for print books, whether they are at Mount Allison or at another Novanet library.
Through the Mount Allison Library homepage, log in to Novanet by selecting "My Account/Renew Books" and then "Sign in" in the top right corner.
Enter your student number (including the zero at the beginning) as your barcode, and your four-digit library account PIN as your password. If you don’t know your PIN, try the last four digits of your telephone number. If that doesn’t work, please contact Access Services for your PIN: email: firstname.lastname@example.org / phone: 364-2568.
Once you are logged in, open the records for the book you would like to get, scroll down to the “Get It” section, click “Place a Hold” and then “Send Request.”
We’ll send you an email when your books are ready for pick-up. The books will be checked out to you and waiting in our designated pick-up area just inside the main doors. No appointment is needed.
Turnaround time for receiving Mount Allison books should be within the day. Deliveries of books from other libraries in the Novanet system can take 3-4 business days.
Where possible, we have implemented one-way traffic flows in the library. We also require people to wear masks when moving around the buildings. A staff member at the R.P. Bell's check-in desk will greet you and direct you to your seat or answer any questions you might have. Anyone proceeding past the check-in desk needs to make a booking through Book a Seat. People stopping into the library for quick printing or library to-go pick-up do not need to book a space.
At present, the main, ground and basement floors are open to bookings, while the upper floors and stacks remain closed except to staff.
Please help us keep the Libraries clean and healthy: Sanitizing wipes are available to you to wipe down your study space when you arrive and leave. Facilities Services has also implemented a more frequent cleaning regime throughout the day to disinfect high-touch surfaces. Book-drop boxes are available on each floor to deposit any library books you no longer need.
We look forward to seeing you in the Libraries! As with many things related to COVID-19, our procedures are developing and improving. Questions or comments? Please contact us at email@example.com. We welcome your feedback.
