Interlibrary Loans: Novanet Express

Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery at MTA Libraries

Novanet Express

Novanet Express (NE)

With Novanet Express (NE), items are not requested using the Interlibrary Loan web form, but instead via the “Find in Library/Request” option in the Novanet catalogue. NE items are provided by the Novanet Library with the closest available copy to your library. You will be notified by email when the item is ready to be picked up. You pick up NE items from the Mount Allison Libraries Access Services desk. (Alternatively, you can select another Novanet library as your pickup location when you submit your request.) NE items get signed out to your Novanet Circulation account and are tracked through the Novanet Circulation system. Novanet borrowing, renewal and overdue policies apply to them. They can be returned at any Novanet library.

Questions about the progress of your Novanet Express request? Please visit or contact Access Services staff.

How to request a book:

  • Search for the item in the Novanet catalogue first. Any circulating book held at another Novanet library may be ordered directly from the catalogue via the Novanet Express service.
  • Sign in and place a hold within the 'Get It' section: Place a Hold image from Novanet website
  • If the item you need is not available at another Novanet library, go to the 'Document Delivery & More' section of the item record to place an ILL request.

Requesting e-books

E-books from other libraries are not available through Novanet Express or Interlibrary Loan, because of licence restrictions. If you would like an e-book that belongs to another library, you can place a request for a print copy of the book through Novanet Express or Interlibrary Loans.

How to request an article or book chapter

Requests for copies of articles and book chapters can be placed through the Document Delivery/Interlibrary Loans forms which are located within the search results in the Novanet catalogue, and journal article databases.

  • From the Novanet catalogue: Go to the 'Document Delivery & More' section located within the item record of your search results.
  • From journal article databases: Select the 'Check for Full Text' link located within your search results and use the 'Request item via Document Delivery' link.

Or, directly place an Interlibrary Loan request by using the button below (please provide as much information as possible):
