COVID Update - Library Re-opening to In-Person Visits - Jan. 27

by Jason MacDonald on 2021-01-26T11:20:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

The Libraries & Archives are re-opening to in-person visits beginning Wednesday, January 27 at 8:30 a.m.

While we are in the Red phase of recovery, we will be implementing the following risk mitigation measures in the libraries' spaces:

  • No food or drink will be permitted in any of the public or bookable spaces in the library.
  • Students and faculty who use the library must wear a mask at all times, even when they are seated.
  • All group study rooms will be changed to single occupancy spaces.

Our Library-to-Go curbside pick-up service will resume once again for in-person pick-up of library materials. The libraries' recently introduced Books-by-Mail service will also continue to be an option in each of the Yellow, Orange, and Red phases of recovery.  If you choose to take advantage of the Books-by-Mail service, please ensure you include a current mailing address in your request.

Photocopying and printing services will resume at this time as well.

Librarians continue to be available virtually to help you find and get access to resources and provide research help. Please contact us at infodesk@mta.ca, visit our Online Chat or contact your Subject Librarian.

At this time we will also be moving towards extending our hours. We will be extending hours further when staffing levels permit.

Effective January 27, R.P. Bell library hours will be as follows:

Monday - Thursday: 8:10 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Friday: 8:10 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Sunday: 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back!  Let's all continue to do our part to keep one another safe!
