Services and Facilities: A-V Equipment & Theatre

A-V Equipment

Most computer workstations in the Library are equipped with DVD/CD players.

The Library Theatre is equipped with a computer connected to a projector and a theatre screen. A VCR plays VHS tapes. DVDs play through the computer's DVD/CD drive. This computer will play multizone or Zone 2 international DVDs; however, we recommend that you test your DVD in advance. Please ask at the Access Services desk for assistance.

A 50-inch TV monitor is available in room G15, one of the group study rooms on the Ground Floor. An HDMI cable and a mini display port adaptor (for Macs) are available for 5-hour loan at the Access Services desk.

A VHS player connected to a small television is available in the Microform room on the ground floor. This VHS player may also be used with a large, portable TV for viewing VHS films in other classroom spaces in the library. For help with these players, please ask for assistance at the Access Services desk.

Turntables are available in the Music Library.

Headphones are available for five-hour loan at the Access Services Desk.

A personal slide viewer is also available at the Access Services Desk.

Library Theatre

A 60-seat theatre equipped with data projector, television, and multi-zone DVD player is available for showing in-class films or for other multimedia presentations.

The theatre may be booked by MtA faculty and staff. Please see the University's Booking page for more details. Students may also book the theatre. Registered Mount A clubs and societies should do these bookings through the MASU office on the Main Floor of the Wallace McCain Student Centre. Students who are not part of a registered club or society can request theatre bookings through the Library's Access Services desk.
