Services and Facilities

Study Spaces

MtA Libraries have several different areas for studying, both open and bookable

Silent Spaces

Meant for individuals needing absolute silence. No talking, phones, and minimal other noise 

Quiet Zones

Individual areas and rooms for quiet study. Full conversations, device audio, and phone calls are not allowed in these areas

Collaborative Group Areas

Collaborative rooms and zones allow for chatter and quiet phone calls, however loud conversations and device audio are not allowed

Quiet Spaces

Silent Space

  • The Pin Drop Room (G34) on the Ground Floor is absolute silent space

Designated Quiet Study Zones

  • The Basement Floor and Floors 2 and 3 are designated as quiet study areas

Bookable Quiet Spaces 

Individual study rooms are available and bookable. Rooms can be used without booking, however reservations will have priority

Book your space 

  • Floor 2: 206 & 207: Single occupancy study room with power outlet  
  • Ground floor: G35, 36, 37, & 38: Single occupancy study room (no power outlets)

How to book a room

Bookable Collaboration Spaces

Group rooms are available and bookable. Rooms can be used without booking, however reservations will have priority

Book your space 

  • Ground floor:
    • Room G7: Fits 10, has whiteboard and large monitor with HDMI connection
    • Room G11: Fits 4, has whiteboard
    • Abbey Road A & B: Configurable as two study spaces (5 people each) or one large space for 10, with moveable furniture. Has whiteboards and a large monitor with HDMI and VGA connections
  • Floor 3: 
    • Library Theatre: Has computer console, projection screen, and sound, with theatre-style row seating for 60 people

How to book a room

Library Instruction Lab

Located on the 3rd floor (314), the Library Instruction Lab is available for students to use when it is not used for classes. A schedule is posted on the doors

How to Book a Room 

  • Click Reserve button 
  • Select a capacity then Show availability
  • Room options will show for the current day
    • Green blocks are available for booking, red times are unavailable 
  • Use navigation > to see the next day and Go To Date for a specific date, and the slider bar for the time frame
  • Select the time(s) needed in 30 minute increments then Submit Times
  • Enter your email and other relevant details
    • Confirm the booking emailed within one half hour 

Bookings can be made for up to 3 hours each day and up to 2 weeks in advance
