Many library databases provide a stable or persistent URL that permits quick, permanent access to an article or e-book. Look for these persistent or stable URLs (sometimes called "permalinks") in the database's citation or bibliographic information for each article.
Next, to ensure students can access licensed material from on and off campus, append the stable URL to the following library URL prefix: https://login.libproxy.mta.ca/login?url=
Example of a link to an e-book from Ebook Central:
Example of a link to an article from Proquest:
If no stable URL is available, you can create a link using a DOI (if available).
Look for the DOI on the first page of the article or document (e.g. doi:10.1177/1748048509104977) or in its bibliographic details.
Next, append the DOI to the following URL:
https://login.libproxy.mta.ca/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/
Example of a link to an article with a DOI:
No Stable URL or DOI?
Posting a PDF copy of the article may be permitted under the database license agreement.
